BIO

Bunbury Concrete Contractors was established in 1974 by Alex Dhu and Leo Hollemans. Some of our first contracts were with local builders such as Smith Constructions, GD Homes, Geoff Workman, Princi & Sons, Tony Ietto Builders, Best Constructions and IGM Constructions.

Having 7 sons between us, as time progressed, they all were given the opportunity to learn all the aspects of the concreting trade. Some took it on, and now have developed their own businesses in the construction industry.

Some of our early projects included the Bunbury Court House, Busselton Bi-Lo Shopping Centre, The Surge Barrier Gate Footings in the Bunbury Estuary, Australind Shopping Centre, The Dr Foster & Assoc Surgery and the First Stages of the Worlsey Refinery.

In more recent years, as 2 of my sons joined our team, we completed projects such as the Grand Cinema Complex, Palandri Winery, Margaret River Coles Complex, Willowbrigde Winery Ferguson, Margaret River Wine School of Excellence, Cowaramup Water Supply Tank, Bunbury Catholic College Sports Centre, First 2 Australind Bypass Bridges, Grand Canals Pedestrian Bridges, Worsley's Berth 6 Inner Harbour, Wellington Street Call Centre and Vista 2 Apartments Princep Street to name a few.

In 2001, we completed the Voyager Estate Winery's Underground Wine Cellar, the largest in Australia.

I then ran Bunbury Concrete Contractors with my youngest daughter who I have trained to walk in my footsteps. Together, our main ambition is to provide a concreting service with a consistently high standard of quality to all types of requirements. Today she manages and runs the office and IT side of the business with my leading hand Ashley handing the completion of our work.
